Endpoint Client Application - Introduction

Introduction

The ScrewDrivers Endpoint Client app gives you direct control over your printing configuration in remote sessions. While you don't necessarily need access to this app for basic printing - your administrator can handle most settings - it's incredibly useful if you're a power user who connects to multiple environments or needs to fine-tune your printer behavior.

Your administrator can automate these settings by deploying registry configurations that mirror what's available in the Endpoint Client app. If you need help with automated deployment, contact [support@tricerat.com](mailto:support@tricerat.com?subject=Customer Support Inquiry:ScrewDrivers) for assistance.

Understanding the Interface

The Endpoint Client app organizes settings across four main tabs, each represented by an icon on the left side of the window. When you first open the app, you'll notice the tab bar is collapsed to save space. Just hover your cursor over an icon to see a tooltip with the tab name, or click the hamburger menu to expand the full tab bar.

Printers Tab: This is where you'll configure which printers are available in your remote sessions. You can set printer priorities, enable or disable specific printers, and adjust printer-specific settings like print job rendering options.

General Settings Tab: Here you can control how your remote sessions behave, including notifications for printer changes and how printer data is cached. These settings help you optimize your printing experience based on your specific environment.

Logging Tab: This tab provides diagnostic logging options that Tricerat support might ask you to use if you're troubleshooting issues. Under normal circumstances, you won't need to modify these settings.

About Tab: View version information about your Endpoint Client installation and manage Citrix plugin registration if needed.

Saving Your Changes

Here's something important to remember: when you make changes to settings on any tab, you'll need to click the Apply button (it's in the top right corner) to save them. The app saves all your changes across all tabs at once - you can't save changes on a per-tab basis. If you try to switch tabs or close the app without applying your changes, don't worry - the app will prompt you to save before you lose any work.

Once you've made and applied all your changes, simply click the Close button (X) in the upper right corner to exit the app. Your new settings will take effect in your next remote session.
