Opening ScrewDrivers Printers (Windows)
Opening ScrewDrivers Printers
ScrewDrivers Printers is a desktop application that you'll find in your Start menu under Tricerat > ScrewDrivers Printers. When you launch it, the application opens directly to the Printers tab, showing you all your available printers.
| The current printers view of ScrewDrivers Printers should match the operating system's control panel view of local printers that are available to you. |
Understanding the Interface
The ScrewDrivers Printers window organizes your printer management functions across three main tabs. You'll find these tabs represented by icons on a vertical tab bar along the left side of the window. When you first open the application, this tab bar is collapsed to save space - just hover your mouse over an icon to see a tooltip with the tab name, or click the hamburger menu icon to expand the full tab bar with complete tab names.
Printers Tab: This is your main workspace where you'll see all your available printers - both Tricerat and non-Tricerat printers - listed by name. Your current default printer is marked with a checkmark, making it easy to identify at a glance. This tab is where you'll do most of your printer management work during your ScrewDrivers session.
Settings Tab: Here you can customize how printer information is displayed, choosing which columns appear in your printer lists on the Printers tab. You can also hide maps that don't have any printers assigned, and refresh the printer queues for your Tricerat printers when needed. The Settings tab also shows you the current version of ScrewDrivers Printers (this information is read-only).
Maps Tab: When you select a printer map from your available options, it'll be displayed on this tab. This is where you can view floor plans and location maps that help you find printers in your physical workspace.
