Installing the ScrewDrivers Gateway
The Gateway server enables Enterprise edition's mobile printing and TCP/IP client functionality; the Cloud Connector service adds remote/cloud printing. Both are Enterprise only — skip this page on Pro or Essentials.
Step 1: Prepare the Gateway server
- Windows Server 2016 or newer, with .NET 4.8 installed.
- Network connectivity to your SQL Server and License Server, plus internet access if you'll use the cloud relay.
- Firewall rules:
- Inbound 4600 (default) for client connections (TCP/IP clients, non-Windows platforms, and mobile) — TLS 1.2 secured
- Cloud Connector deployments additionally use 5550/5551 — see Ports and Firewall Rules
Step 2: Install the Gateway services
- Run the installer locally (
ScrewDriversProOrEnterprise_<version>_x64.exe) as administrator. - In the wizard:
- Component selection: check Gateway Service, and Cloud Connector Service if you're using remote/cloud printing.
- Database connection: enter your SQL Server details and click Test Connection.
- License configuration: License Server address or nodelock key — an Enterprise license is required.
- Gateway configuration: the client port (4600 default) and Cloud Connector enablement if you're using remote/cloud printing.
- Accept the default path and install; reboot if prompted.
- Verify the services:
Get-Service -Name "Tricerat*"
# Gateway (and Cloud Connector, if selected) should be running
Step 3: Verify connectivity
Test a client connection to the Gateway on port 4600, and confirm the cloud relay connection in ScrewDrivers Administration if you enabled it.

- TCP/IP clients: Configure TCP/IP clients via the Gateway.
