Configuring Custom Chart Colors in Reports (Maps)
You can customize the colors used in ScrewDrivers Reports to match your organization's branding or improve chart readability. Custom chart colors replace the default color scheme and apply to all data series in your reports. This guide shows you how to create, modify, and manage custom color palettes.
Creating custom chart colors
You'll create each custom color individually. The order in which you create them determines the sequence they'll appear in your charts—the first color you create becomes color 1, the second becomes color 2, and so on.
You must repeat the following procedure for every custom color you're creating. The order of custom colors is based on the order in which you created them.
-
Open the Settings tab.
-
Under Chart Colors, click Create. The Create Chart Color dialog box opens with black as the initial color.
-
Customize the color using either method:
- Adjust the slider bars to select your color
- Enter specific RGB values in the fields next to each slider bar
As you make changes, a preview of the color and its hex code appear to the right of the slider bars.
-
Click Save. The dialog closes and you'll return to the Settings tab, where you'll see an entry for your new custom color along with its order number (1 for the first custom color, 2 for the second, and so on).
Managing custom colors
Once you've created custom colors, you can modify or remove them as needed:
Editing colors: Click the Ellipse icon to the right of the custom color entry, then select Edit from the dropdown menu. Use the same process as creating to adjust the RGB values and save your changes.
You can edit only the color itself, not its order. To reorder custom colors, you'll need to delete all of them and create them again in your preferred sequence.
Deleting individual colors: You have two options:
- Click the Ellipse icon next to the color entry, select Delete, and confirm the deletion
- Select the checkbox for the color and click Delete at the bottom of the list
Deleting multiple colors: Select the checkbox for each color you want to remove, then click Delete at the bottom of the list.
When you delete custom colors that are currently used in reports, the data series colors are automatically adjusted. Depending on how many colors you delete, some data series might use custom colors while others revert to standard colors.
Deleting all colors: Select the checkbox at the top of the custom colors list (which selects all colors), then click Delete.
If you delete all custom colors, any reports using these colors will automatically reset to the standard color settings (red for the first series, blue for the second series, and so on).
