Configuring Print Server Printers

Once you've assigned print server printers to their owners, you'll need to configure how those printers behave. Print server printer configuration involves three main tasks: setting the naming scheme that determines how printers appear on the server, specifying which printer should be the default for each owner, and controlling access to advanced printer features.

Configuration overview

You have flexibility in how you configure your print server printers:

  • Naming schemes can be set globally (applying the same naming scheme to all printers on the print server) or configured individually for each printer
  • Default printers can be assigned administratively, but owners can always override this setting using the ScrewDrivers Connector application
  • Advanced features can be enabled or disabled on a per-printer basis to control user access
