Products Affected
This announcement applies to all version 6 releases of the following Tricerat products:
- ScrewDrivers v6 (all builds)
- Simplify Printing v6 (all builds)
- Simplify Suite v6 (all builds)
In ScrewDrivers v7, the product formerly called "ScrewDrivers" or "Simplify Printing" in v6 is now called "Essentials" edition. When evaluating v7 upgrades, Essentials corresponds to v6 ScrewDrivers/Simplify Printing functionality.
End of Life Announcement
Tricerat has established End of Maintenance (EOM) and End of Life (EOL) dates for version 6 of ScrewDrivers and Simplify Printing. Moving forward, Tricerat will no longer provide software patches for these products and will only sell licenses to existing customers of these versions. However, Tricerat will continue to offer support for customers with active support contracts through the EOL date.
Important Dates
Version 6 has a phased End of Maintenance schedule based on your specific version number:
End of Maintenance (EOM) for versions prior to 6.10: December 31, 2021 Earlier v6 releases (before 6.10) reached End of Maintenance in 2021. Technical support changed from full maintenance to limited technical support.
End of Maintenance (EOM) for all v6 versions: December 31, 2023 All version 6 releases, including 6.10 and later, reached End of Maintenance on this date. Technical support is limited as described below.
End of Life (EOL): December 31, 2025 Phone and email support will no longer be provided by Tricerat after this date. Existing licenses will continue to function, and legacy documentation will remain available.
Technical Support After End of Maintenance
For customers with active support contracts for the affected products, Tricerat provides continued support with the following limitations:
What Tricerat Support Will Do
- Answer questions about the products and offer configuration assistance as outlined in your support contract
- Attempt to correct problems you encounter, including case escalation to development teams to investigate configuration changes that might resolve issues
What Tricerat Support Cannot Do
Tricerat development is not providing additional code patches for these products. If investigation determines that your problem falls into one of the following categories, Tricerat cannot offer additional help:
- OS compatibility issues: Problems arising from operating systems or OS patches released after the last development update
- Third-party software conflicts: Issues arising from compatibility with other software programs on your system
- New features: Feature requests or enhancements
- Code-level fixes: Cases requiring code-level changes to correct the issue
Recommended Customer Actions
If you're currently running these products, you have options:
- Continue running existing deployments: You can continue using the software and receive technical support from Tricerat until the End of Life date (December 31, 2025).
- Plan your upgrade to version 7: Be aware of the support limitations mentioned above and that there won't be any additional software updates. Contact Tricerat to discuss technical upgrade options to version 7.
