License Server Compatibility
Each ScrewDrivers release requires a minimum Tricerat License Server version — the version of the licensing engine that release was built against. Two rules make planning simple:
- Newer license servers serve older products. Every License Server release is backward compatible with all previous v6 and v7 Tricerat products, so it's always safe — and recommended — to run the newest License Server available.
- A product can't check out from an older license server than it was built for. Upgrade the License Server before upgrading ScrewDrivers components, or sessions will hit license checkout errors.
This only applies to concurrent licensing (CCU/CCS). Nodelocked (NLS) deployments have no license server — see the license types overview.
