ScrewDrivers POC Setup Information
Thank you for taking the time to set up ScrewDrivers for a POC!
We need a location to install the management console and licensing app, as well as the ability to connect to a SQL instance so our software can create the required database during installation. If you don't have an MS SQL server we can use, see the SQL Express setup instructions below.
Prerequisites
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is required for ScrewDrivers and requires a reboot after installation. You can install it from the link above or directly from Microsoft's site.
- Management server or workstation — for the Admin dashboard and License server
- Windows Print Server — if using the Print Server management feature
- A test endpoint matching your use case — workstation, VDI, etc.
Before the Guided Install
Completing these steps ahead of time will help us get started quickly.
1. Review Documentation
All the latest versions of our installation and admin guides are in our knowledge base: Training Manual Link. Bookmark it — release notes are also published there.
2. Configure SQL
These two knowledge base articles cover SQL setup, configuration, and required permissions:
3. Download the Installer Files
We'll provide a custom trial license file during the guided install with the appropriate user count and trial length.

Microsoft .NET 4.8 is a prerequisite and requires a reboot. Be aware of this if installing in a production environment.
4. Set Up SQL (if needed)
If you don't have an existing SQL server we can connect to:
Ready to Go
Once you've downloaded the ScrewDrivers Pro install files, installed .NET 4.8, and confirmed that SQL is ready (your own SQL server or SQL Express), we'll be able to jump right into the guided install for your trial.
