What You'll Need​

Before starting this tutorial:

  • Azure Virtual Desktop environment configured and running
  • Azure subscription with appropriate permissions
  • Windows Server VM in Azure (for Print Server) or on-premises connectivity
  • Test AVD session host pools
  • Test users with AVD access
  • Administrator access to Azure and AVD components
  • About 2-3 hours to complete the tutorial

You'll create a complete AVD printing solution:

  1. Architecture Planning - Choose cloud, hybrid, or on-premises Print Server placement
  2. Network Configuration - Set up connectivity between AVD and Print Server
  3. Print Server Deployment - Deploy in Azure or connect to on-premises
  4. Session Host Configuration - Install ScrewDrivers on AVD session hosts
  5. Cloud Printer Setup - Configure printers in Azure
  6. Hybrid Scenarios - Enable printing to both cloud and on-premises printers
  7. Universal Print Integration (Optional) - Connect to Microsoft Universal Print
  8. Performance Optimization - Minimize cloud costs and optimize performance

By the end, your AVD users will have seamless printing regardless of printer location.
